Preliminary Results of Excavation
Archaeological excavation at Dunboyne 1 was undertaken by ACS Ltd in August 2005 and is now complete. Post-excavation analysis is complete.
Two small shallow cremation pits were identified at this site during the testing phase in 2004. These two pits were found during excavation to have been located along the original line of the River Tolka. Despite extensive cleaning of the surrounding area no further features were identified. .
