| Leshemstown 1 | Burnt mound | Burnt mound | Bronze Age |
Archaeological excavation at Leshemstown 1 was undertaken by ACS Ltd in January 2006 and is now complete. Post-excavation analysis is complete.
The site consisted of a fulacht fiadh with the remains of a shallow crescent shaped mound of burnt stone and charcoal with associated features. A deep sub-oval trough and a series of shallow pits were excavated, as was a large sub-circular pit which appears to pre-date the burnt mound.
