Preliminary Results of Excavation
Archaeological excavation at Loughsallagh 1 was undertaken by ACS Ltd in August 2005 and is now complete. Post-excavation analysis is complete.
The remains of a post-medieval road / laneway and associated ditch were identified at this site. The surface of a section of the road was cleaned back and sections were excavated through the surface. An earlier road surface and associated ditch were exposed at a lower level.
