| Pace 1 | Burnt spread | Burnt mound | Bronze Age |
Archaeological excavation at Pace 1 was undertaken by ACS Ltd from September to November 2005. Post-excavation is complete.
A number of pits and two post-holes were recorded with some shallow gullies. One of the pits had burnt stone in the base and had been backfilled with naturally derived material. A number of stakeholes were recorded and excavated at the margin of the site next to the flood plain of an adjacent stream. A pit was excavated here that yielded some sherds of pottery and a possible mould tentatively identified as Bronze Age. Ard marks were also recorded on the drier ground away from the stream.
