| Roestown 4 | Pits and ditches | Dispersed activity | Possible Prehistoric |
Archaeological excavation at Roestown 4 was undertaken by ACS Ltd in June 2006 and is now complete. Post-excavation analysis is complete.
Four archaeological features were exposed during testing at this site and consisted of a linear feature, probably a furrow, containing occasional burnt bone and charcoal, an oval shaped pit, a shallow curvilinear feature and a second pit. These features were re-exposed during a clean back of the site and an additional pit was located in the northwest corner of the cutting which was filled with charcoal and burnt stone. As a result the area was extended to the northwest but no further features were identified. All features were fully excavated and recorded.
